Shannon grew up in Petoskey MI. She got her undergraduate degree double majoring in chemistry and criminal justice from Michigan State University. While in undergrad, she worked with Dr. Gary Blanchard studying metal complexed Langmuir-Blodgett films. This was where she discovered her love for doing research. Outside of chemistry, Shannon enjoys reading, cooking, and hiking with her dog.
